Snowsports Action.
Located deep within the Victorian Alps Hotham receives on average the most snowfalls of any other resort in Victoria . Hotham is also known as the powder capital of Australia .
Hotham was once known as the serious skier's mountain but recent developments have improved beginner and intermediate terrain.
Hotham is also a playground for snowboarders with multiple man made terrain parks along with an abundance of natural hits, gullies, chutes and drops.
If your not into skiing then you enjoy other activities including:

Snowmaking.
At times when natural falls dont arrive Hothams extensive snowmaking system can keep the snow cover good. With more than 35 automatic snowguns, snowmaking currently covers the village loop and beginner runs allowing for top to bottom skiing throughout the season.
With the construction of the new loch snowmaking dam Hothams snowmaking capacity is more than doubling for season 2007 to include intermediate trails such as Imagine, Mother Johnsons Return and Snake gully to ensure that the Heavenly valley lift can remain open for the most of the season.

Terrain.
Hotham has some of the best terrain in Australia with over 320Ha of skiable terrain. Terrain varies from gentle wide beginner slopes with fantastic views across the alps to long intermediate runs and then death defying steeps for advanced skiers and snow boarders.

White Mountain Spa Retreat.
New for 2006 was the white mountain spa retreat located in the White Crystal Complex. The spa and treatment retreat offers a wonderful alternative to hitting the ski slopes. A wide range of massages and spa treatments are available

Hotham Village.
Hotham village is located at 1750m so your entire holiday is above the snowline. The resort is sprawled across the village and includes many retail shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

New Hotham.
The future of Hotham is one of great expectation and amazing changes. Plans for the new Hotham include a $500M development to include a new resort and hotel named Bale' , brand new shopping complex and redirection of the great alpine road around the village to give it a more intermate setup.

DP Village. Dinner Plain.
Located just 10km down the Great alpine road the alpine village of Dinner plain has an abundance of private snow homes, a shopping centre, Japanese spa retreat and its own beginner ski lift.
Access to Dinner plain from Hotham is via a shuttle bus or you can take the scenic route through the snow gums on cross country skis or a guided horse riding tour.
